Once you decide on the type of cabin, and your cabinmate, you will need to register for the trip on the Up The Creek website. You will also need to to decide if you want to pay in full within 30 days of your trip deposit of $500, if you want to get the $1000 trip discount credit or free airfare.
When you register for the trip you will have to answer a series of questions regarding your name, address, contact info, date of birth, and passport info. We will not be taking any credit card information thru the UTC website as we do with the other trips; just the registration information. Once you have finished the trip registration it will be forwarded to our trip leader, Kathy Kinnard, who will review and forward it to the tour operator, Scenic Cruises. A representative from the tour company will then contact you by phone to get your credit card information for payment of this trip.
Because the trip deposit is non-refundable and there are only double occupancy cabins available, we will not process your registration until we also have the registration information from your roommate. One of the questions on our registration form is “who is your roommate”. If you are uncertain on who you want for a roommate go ahead and submit your registration for the trip and we will see if we can match you up with another single who does not have a roommate. A good idea would be to then meet with that other person to make sure you think you will be fine sharing a cabin with them for 7 nights. The cabins all have beds that can be split into single beds but they are small cabins and we do not have any options to switch you out, if it ends up that you and your roommate are not compatible.
Our regular cancellation policy does not apply to this trip since you will be paying the tour operator directly, so we highly recommend that you get travel insurance that will reimburse you for the trip cost in case you have to cancel your trip reservation. Also, a number of people have indicated that they would like to go to Europe a few days early to visit other cities in Europe. In the next 60 days, or so, we will be exploring this idea and presenting an option for a pre-Danube trip. The airfare included option with the tour operator will allow you to arrive in Europe a few days before the tour starts.
